Common questions

Does Shelfie really read every spine?

Yes. Claude vision (Sonnet 4.6) reads each spine and returns title, author, and a confidence score per book. We attach OpenLibrary and Google Books metadata when we can match it. The remaining couple of red entries take two taps to correct.

Will Shelfie scan barcodes too?

No. The whole pitch is that you don't need to. A wall of 50 books takes one photograph, not 50 trips to the back cover.

Is my library public?

Private by default. You opt in to a public profile on Plus and Pro at shelfiebook.com/u/<you>. Your private library is gated by row-level security at the database, not just the application.

Can I export?

CSV, XLSX, Goodreads CSV, BibTeX. Anytime. From any tier.

What if I leave?

Take your data with you. Goodreads import format is supported on the way out.
